Sheryl Bagshaw (formerly Salas-Diamantino) is a Dementia Practitioner/Educator. She holds a Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix and a Bachelor’s of Science in Sociology and a Gerontology Certificate from from Utah State University where she started the Student Gerontology Association.  Sheryl has been working in the senior care industry since 1997 and is licensed as a Social Service Worker.  Since 2005, Sheryl has specifically been working with dementia clients and their families.  She has been a Cognitive Interventionist, a Senior Placement Advisor, a Case Manager, a Long-Term Care Social Worker, a Discharge Planner, the Director of a Dementia Unit, and the host for various Family Support Groups.  Sheryl holds Certification as a Validation Worker through Naomi Feil’s Validation Institute, has obtained her Certification as an Eden Alternative Associate, and she holds national certification as a Dementia Practitioner through the NCCDP.  Sheryl has been a Volunteer Ambassador for the Alzheimer’s Association and is currently a member of the Utah State Coordinating Council for Alzheimer’s and Related Dementias. She is certified to teach the “Dementia Dialogues” course and she is well-sought throughout the state of Utah as a Dementia Educator and Speaker.  She is the author of the books “Angels at the Bedside” and “Dementia:  From the Wrong End of the Bed.”
